Corowa Airport has a proud aviation history dating back to World War II, when it was established as a military training airfield. While only a handful of the original buildings remain today, the airport continues to play an important role in Australian aviation.
Over the years, Corowa has hosted national and international skydiving championships and remains a vibrant aviation hub. It is home to Corowa Recreational Flying, Nelson Aviation Services, Serenity Hot Air Balloons, the NSW Rural Fire Service aviation base, and the Corowa Cougars Rugby Club. For around 10 to 12 weeks each year, the airport also welcomes the Australian Army Parachute Training School for military parachute training.
